In January 2014 ICANN (shortened for Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) changed the RAA (Registrar Accreditation Agreement). In short, this change has tightened up the responsibilities of domain registrars and registrants in an effort to rid the internet of lost domains. This is also in place to help with any disputes over domain ownership.

All domains must have accurate contact information associated with them. This information can be updated with any domain's you have with RS Host via your client portal. Click here to read our article on how to update your domain's contact information. You must keep your domain's contact information up to date at all times.

The domain verification process

When you make a change to any of the contact information on an existing domain name or when you register a new domain a verification message may be sent to the registrant's email address.

You must respond to this email.

If you do not respond to this email within 15 days then the domain will be suspended and placed into a Hold status affecting any services that rely on that domain. This suspension can be reversed by responding to the email however it may take up to 72 hours for the domain to be reactivated.

Please Note that these policies and procedures are mandated by ICANN and are implemented by our domain registration partners. We are not able to intervene with the domain verification process. Additionally RS Host will not be held responsible if you fail to comply with these requirements.
